Sag Harbor Song Festival

Web design and photography for The Sag Harbor Song Festival, an intimate, multi-day music festival held each September in Sag Harbor, New York, featuring performances by emerging operatic talent in a salon-style setting. Founded in 2022 by Lena Kaplan and presented in collaboration with The Church, the festival brings together a small roster of rising opera singers for three consecutive concerts that showcase a wide-ranging repertoire, including opera, operetta, art song (lieder), and musical theatre. Led by Artistic Director Brad Woolbright and Music Director Robert Tweten, the festival emphasizes both artistic excellence and accessibility, offering audiences a close-up, immersive concert experience that has quickly gained popularity and consistently sold out in its early seasons.

Each festival season, I photograph the artists’ performances with a focus on capturing the immediacy and emotional nuance of live opera, art song, and musical theater in an intimate setting. Working in close proximity, I document expressive moments—gesture, breath, and connection—that reflect both the individuality of each performer and the shared experience with the audience.
